Quotes and Comments

Danny Britt – Texas Stuff/The Other Side
Danny Britt
is a singer /songwriter /guitarist who is way too slick and multi - faceted to be roped into any one pen. He's a little bit Texas troubadour and a little bit poprocker and a big bit talent.
Doug Treadway, "News of Record" Night Flying Publications

Danny Britt – The Other Side
"Sounding a little like The Eagles, a little like Willie, and a little like Kenny Rogers, Danny Britt’s brand of music is an enjoyable, inspirational journey through his musical career."
Greg Tutwiler, Singer Magazine

Danny Britt – The Other Side
"Danny Britt’s newest release The Other Side (Austin Red Dawg Publishing) is filled with the wonderful sounds of that laid back, down-home, progressive-folk style that have made him and his band Red Dawg performing favorites in Austin for years." "The Other Side showcases Danny Britt’s versatility and talent, and boasts some of Austin’s best musicians and performers."
Lynne Thompson, NEW TEXAS Magazine – May 2003 Issue

Danny Britt – The Other Side
"The excellent songwriting we found on Danny Britt's "Texas Stuff" project continues on his latest effort. This time Danny lets some of the tracks go electric and adds a full drum kit. Nevertheless, the sound is still light and agile, the harmonies rich, and the writing still honest. There is additional diversity since there are songs from additional writers, but it is all of the highest caliber."
Bill Groll, Austin Americana.com

Danny Britt & Red Dawg – Texas Stuff
"Texas Stuff is an excellent first outing from this duo raised in Kentucky and planted in one of the hottest musical beds in the country."
Matt Watroba, Sing Out Magazine

Danny Britt & Red Dawg – Texas Stuff
"The melodies keep my interest and the lyrics flow in a seemingly effortless stream. It has been a long time since I’ve run across a project where the words and the music fit together so well. Each note, each chord, every syllable, every line meshes into a unified whole."
Bill Groll, Austin Americana.com

Danny Britt – The Other Side
To date, Danny Britt & Red Dawg - Texas Stuff has not gotten the credit that it deserves. In the distance of a couple years from Red Dawg Music comes Danny Britt - The Other Side and the disc does not disappoint, indeed.

Off The Beaten Path

I first saw Danny Brttt and Penn Harris perform several years ago at a charity event on an evening featuring several performers. I was disappointed to find out that they had not yet recorded. Every year, at the same event, I watched as the performances got better and the corral of original songs grew. Still, no CD.
At last it's here, and it was worth the wait.
It the names aren't familiar it's because Danny and Penn do most of their performing in and around their home state of Texas, and
Texas Stuff is in large part a reflection of that. Images and themes of the Lone Star state abound as Danny and Penn lead you through l2 original songs about rivers, the West, love lost and found, and the sheer joy of creating music. Expect acoustic country arrangements with light percussion and some great session musicians including Chip Dolan on piano and accordion.
Texas Stuff is an excellent first outing from this duo raised in Kentucky and planted in one of the hottest musical beds in the country. Look for them if you're in Austin, or better yet wait tor this CD to catch on and see them in your hometown.
